Archiemidas is the classic(al) investor who thinks that his investments are only going to go up in value because he has the golden touch (yet they also go down from the sheer weight of expectation…). His approach is scientific but then human beings, also known as ‘the Market’, intervene with their prejudices, fears, aspirations and greed, and cause the best-laid plans to go awry.
Archiemidas probably reflects how most of us behave when we invest money – rationally yet emotionally. Through this blog, the author’s objective is to assist the would-be Archiemidas – aka ‘the reader’ – to navigate the financial maze and the information governing the rational side to their decision-making. He offers an alternative approach to the typical commentator on the financial markets; tries to bring his readers some explanation, clarity and insight on the subject of investment; and perhaps, dare he say it, to educate his readers.
